ABOUT THE PRIZE
The Rifat Chadirji Prize is the newest prize to be established as part of the Tamayouz Excellence Award program of championing and celebrating the best of Iraqi architecture.
The prize is named after Dr Rifat Chadirji, the great Iraqi Architect whose influence and importance is far beyond built work. The award will be officially launched in January 2017, celebrating the 90th Birthday of the great architect. The Rifat Chadirji Prize is a thematic open international prize focuses on proposing designs responding to local challenges in Iraq. This prize aims to introduce Iraq and its challenges to the world and invite them to submit their ideas and to establish an uncompromising open source of ideas tackling social issues in Iraq through design.

This is a single stage Competition with the aim of identifying the most appropriate proposal, which best satisfies the general and specific objectives of the contest.

The Rifat Chaderji Prize aims to promote the advancement of architecture in Iraq through an open source of design ideas responding to Iraq's most urgent social challenges.

OBJECTIVES
1.Highlight the current challenges facing communities in Iraq.
2.Encourage individuals and organizations to produce concepts responding to local community needs.
3.Annually celebrate the importance and influence of Dr Rifat Chaderji through a prize in his name.

ELIGIBILITY
Architects, students, engineers, and designers are invited to participate in this prize, participants can participate as individuals or teams (4 Team members Maximum). We encourage the participation of multidisciplinary teams.
Under no circumstances will jury panel members, organisers, nor any of their family members, be allowed to participate in this competition.

An invitation to attend the Tamayouz Award Annual Ceremony for the Top Three mentioned above (Flight and Accommodation costs covered by the organisers of the prize; Tamayouz Excellence Award), Every year Tamayouz International Award chooses a different city to host the ceremony, in 2017 it was held in Amman - Jordan. This year’s City will be announced later in the year.
